SPECIAL COLLECTIONS - The library has some special books we keep on hand for those who would like to check them out for weekends.  These books are a variety of genre and topics and may be used for research as needed. If you wish to take these materials out please see Mrs. Alexieff to show you the collection and make arrangements for checkout on Fridays.  If not returned on Monday your library account will be charged $1.00 per day fine for overdue materials. 

 

DVDs & VHS - We also have a small collection of non-fiction and fiction videos for your use. These items may also be checked out for weekend use and the same fine policy applies if late.

 

1. If you have not turned in your Internet Access Permission form you may NOT use the school computers.

2. If you have outstanding textbooks or library materials from prior years you may not access library services.

3. Library Books May be checked out for 3 week intervals. If you need to renew a book let me know ahead of time and you may have 2 renewals for 3 weeks each.  If you do not renew your book you will accrue fines of .10 cents per day the first day after it is due.

4. Computers in the library are for academic work; NO GAMING, NO DOWNLOADING and No printing without permission. Limited to printing of 5 full pages. See Mrs. Alexieff before printing. 

5. NO FOOD OR DRINK IN THE LIBRARY

6. NO CELL PHONES (If you must have it out for any reason ask Mrs. Alexieff first- there are some exceptions).

7. Mp3 players may be out with permission. Please let Mrs. Alexieff know when you want to listen to music in the library. 

8. When borrowing headphones from the library you must turn in your cell phone, keys or other valuable and return them by the end of the class period.

9. When Coming to the Library from another class you must have a signed pass from your teacher and have a purpose to be there.

10. When coming with a class as all other times you must sign in for a computer during that class period.

11. Talking is permitted in the lounging area and computer area.  The tables are for quiet study. 

12. RESPECT is ALWAYS EXPECTED.

Magazines

We have many magazines available to read in the library. They are displayed on the tables in the "chat" area. Please feel free to read or browse them while you relax. Please remember to put them back where you got them when finished.

If you wish to have any of the outdated magazines please 

see Mrs. Alexieff.

If you see something on our processing cart you would like to check out. Please let Mrs. Alexieff know and she will expedite it for you. Make sure you leave your name and ID# with her.

TEXTBOOKS

STUDENTS - It is your option to pick up textbooks which are required for your class but if you do not you are responsible for any work given from them in or out of class. The following teachers are using student issued textbooks -

Health - Coach Blount

Spanish I - Mrs. Cantu

Spanish II/III - Mrs. Freeborn

English I - Mrs. Stewart

English II - Mrs. Blount

English III- Mrs. Cox

English IV - Mrs. Johnson (including DC & AP English 11th & 12th grade)

All other teachers have opted to use class sets or supplemental online resources. If you need to check out a book for any other reason please see Mrs. Wagner.

ALL Textbooks are required by law to be covered at home/school.  If your teacher asks you to bring your book in for a check she may notify the librarian about any damages incurred while the books are in your possession.  

If you have minor damage occur during the year please notify Mrs. Alexieff immediately.We can make repairs at no charge.

At the end of the year all teachers and students are required to turn in the book(s) that were checked out to them (by barcode identification) and they need to be returned in the same condition issued.  If there is damage it will be assessed and charged as an end-of-year obligation. All charges must be cleared at the end of the year.

 

If you do not pay or return your textbooks you will be charged the full cost of the book and you will not be issued another in that subject the following year. Seniors must clear all obligations before graduation.
