Communities In Schools is a non-profit drop out prevention agency established in the Coastal Bend area in 1986.

The mission of Communities In Schools is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.

George West High School is committed to promoting a positive school environment and improving the academic achievements of all students. Our counselors help eliminate barriers to success by facilitating access to information, resources and support services appropriate to each student's needs. Individual and group counseling is provided to students whose personal concerns or problems put their personal, social, career and/or educational development at risk.

Community School Counseling Office is available for students, staff and parents Monday - Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Please call Ruby Rosenbaum at 361-449-1914 ext. 1086 and we will be glad to set up an appointment. If a student or parent needs to meet at a time before or after our regular hours, please call the office and we will be glad to set up an appointment.
